The Wonder of Flowers
Even at the age of 70, I remember when I was three or four and my brother and I used to go out early in the morning in our garden. We were so young then everything was new. The peonies, with their huge pink blossoms covered with dew, were a delight. Zinnias, with their showy colors of red, yellow, and orange, were strange and wonderful. Snap dragons with their peculiarly-shaped blossoms were a source of delight. We used to take individual blossoms and put them one each on all five fingers of one hand.
Seventy years later I have not lost that sense of wonder. Perhaps those experiences in our garden imprinted themselves on my mind in such a way that what I experience when I view flowers is simply a continuation of that old past.
Here in photos and text, I shall try to share my delight with flowers.
